Money isn't everything. We as American's are slaves to our jobs. Our jobs define us. Saving money, by making sacrifices is a way to not have our jobs define us.
It is responses like yours that most make me wish you understood the goal of financial independance. You can retire when you're in your 40s if you follow the above steps. It's not hard. It's not about who has the most money...or who makes the most money. Its about being free from having to work, and anyone can do that regardless of their pay. Its how much you spend and invest that matters.
investing isn't everything.
